Frequently Asked Questions

What is Nourish Food Bank’s Impact?

On average, we provide aid to over 3,000 people a month and well over 850,000 meals a year. During the holidays, we provide our clients with Thanksgiving turkeys and Christmas hams plus all the sides to provide a robust dinner and dessert. Additionally, Nourish provides 500 ATLAS backpack bags per month to our homeless, disadvantaged school children in Rutherford County to combat weekend food insecurity.

Does Nourish only assist with donated goods?

No! Through our Nourish the Whole program, we assist our clients in gaining the skills necessary to gain and retain employment for sustainable wages by referring our clients to GED, ESL and adult reading classes. We also refer our clients to needed financial counseling, utilities and rental assistance, insurance access and more. The goal of Nourish Food Bank is to reduce the number of families needing emergency resources and to help transition our clients out of the cycle of poverty and into independence and sustainability.
